"It's basically taking inbound calls and doing data
entry. It's not
telemarketing, but more of an order entry position taking
calls for
such products shown on infomercials for the newest comedy
series of video cassettes, some new-fangled automatic wok
and cookie maker... hehe you get the gist.
Anyway, I am in the application process and thought I
would share how it's gone so far. On January 31,
2002, I filled out
an online application and called their 1-888 number for
the initial
qualification. They emailed me the same application
I'd previously filled out online along with some
additional paperwork where I provided a copy of my DL and
SS card and had to get one sheet notarized. I
mailed off the new application on February 4, 2002.
I received my training manual in my email on February 6,
2002. I had to answer a quiz after reading through
the email and submit my answers via email or fax. I
emailed the answers February 10, 2002. Upon
receiving and grading my quiz, Liveops sent me their
congratulatory letter on February 15, 2002 and told me
I'd need to provide my dedicated phoneline number as well
as the phone number I'd be connecting to the Internet
with (since I do not have DSL or cable modem). I
emailed them the same day with that information.
February 16, 2002, I was sent another email stating that
I'd have to call them to set up a time to take a couple
of test calls and complete the application process.
I was a bit dismayed though that the
earliest day they could schedule me for was March 12,
2002.
So far, the opportunity looks very promising. The
only money out of pocket I've spent is the $5.00
notarizing the one piece of paper and of course mailing
cost, but the company has never asked for any money and
when I've called their number, live people have answered
the phone. They have a physical address listed on
their literature. Since patience is not my strong-suit,
I realize that the wait is probably not detrimental
considering the
benefits of working at home. Their pay structure is
basically 25 cents per minute in non-peak times and 30
cents a minute during peak times, so anywhere from
$15-18/hour assuming one could be on the phone for the
entire hour ;)"
